Lord Moran; Not Sebastian, but Augustus

This question was sent to one of my RP blogs, so answering it over here, as not to flood everyone with OOC meta.

Being–Sherlocked asked: Charles Augustus Magnussen is actually Charles Augustus Milverton (not Moran)…if we are thinking on the same thing? If not, who do you thing is Augustus Moran?

I’ve seen a lot of the ‘Mary is Moran’ theory floating about. Some are as simplistic as pointing out that ‘Morstan’ is just 'Moran’ spelled with an 'st’. Others go into deep comparisons of Mary Morstan to Sebastian Moran. But often, I’ve seen these theories and metas rebutted with a nudge towards The Empty Hearse, pointing out that we’ve already met Moran. 

Ah yes. We did. Lord Moran, Peer of the Realm and Minister for Overseas Development. Oh, and he’s just tried to blow up Westminster.
