This is messing with me for many reasons. 

1. “During my absence”…the way he says that makes me think he doesn’t just mean all the times he was gone from the flat collectively, but the one specific period of time, the two years post-fall, that he was away? Right after Jim supposedly died? But Sherlock concludes Jim is actually dead? So…? 

2. (I understand he could mean “visited my MP apartments” but he says “six occasions” and Jim basically lives in the MP so that doesn’t really work.)

3. If Jim IS dead, does this mean Sherlock knows the ‘next Moriarty’ visited while he was away? Surely Mary has been to 221B more than six times. But…

Maybe? They “dated” for a monthish, during which Sherlock worked a bunch of cases and put off sex…Janine could have conceivably crashed at his place six times. And at the end of TAB Sherlock recalls her sleeping there. Plus Jim pointedly mentions how comfortable Sherlock’s bed is and there’s this intense pause…but…this doesn’t fit with “my absence” being the two years Sherlock was gone….?

4. Right before the “bed” line Jim does this:

Which, yes, dust/dead people/flesh, but also remember when Hudders let John into 221B and said she couldn’t bear to clean it out after Sherlock died, and she had to air it out and it was all dusty? But Sherlock knows “you can put back anything but dust/dust is eloquent” so this seems like one way he would have immediately been able to deduce, upon his return, precisely how many times Jim had visited his flat? But then 

5. If Jim really is NOT dead then DID HE ACTUALLY visit 221B SIX FRAGACKING TIMES while Sherlock was gone and John was gone and Hudders was downstairs alone and Jim was sleeping in his BED?? D:
