You know how the tarmac scene is more painful now that we know Sherlock was high? Like, we have that to revisit now, with new knowledge?

You know what we can ALSO revisit with new knowledge? Mark’s freaking Sherlock Prom at the Royal Albert Hall where he read that Reichenbach suicide note/love letter and we all sat there in the hall or around our computers and heard him read that BEFORE we had the knowledge that he and Steven had already written and filmed a goddamn fix-it for that exact moment in the canon, Jesus Christ

What?

Mark got up in front of literally thousands of listeners and read Holmes’s sad farewell to Watson and made it extra-sad and extra-romantic and the whole time he was doing that he had already said “fuck you, canon Reichenbach” and fixed ACD’s 120-year-old mistake with regard to Watson being there and turned that scene into a symbol of Sherlock and John’s togetherness/John helping Sherlock defeat his demons, and we didn’t know it at the time

I bet if we go back and listen to that again we will all immediately Die

Also, to paraphrase Steven Moffat: Mark Gatiss must be bursting

Thank you :)
